Baseball America releases its list of the Mets' top ten prospects

The latest edition of the Mets' Top 10 prospects in Baseball America was recently unveiled. Steven Matz, who was brilliant this season in limited action, is #1 on the list, one spot up from last year's list.

In addition to Matz, four other prospects are holdovers from last year's list, including shortstop Amed Rosario, who climbed from #6 last year to #2 this year, shortstop Gavin Cecchini, up from #10 last year to #4 this year, outfielder Brandon Nimmo, who fell from #3 to #5, and pitcher Marcos Molina, who climbed from #9 to #6—though the list was published before Molina's Tommy John surgery was public knowledge.

The five newcomers to the list are first baseman Dominic Smith (#3), the team's 1st-round pick in 2013, middle infielder Luis Carpio (#7), who at just 18 years old hit .304 with a .372 OBP this season, outfielder Desmond Lindsay (#8), this year's 2nd round draft pick, infielder Matt Reynolds (#9), perhaps best known as Ruben Tejada's playoff replacement, and outfielder Wuilmer Becerra (#10), who hit .290 with nine home runs and 16 steals in Single-A Savannah this year.
