Be prepared to spend more money when going to cheer on your 2015 National League Champion New York Mets next year. Ticket prices are set to rise 2.86 percent, the New York Post reports, bringing the average ticket up to $26.02. Ticket prices for the past season, at $25.30, were lower than the MLB average of $28.94. The Mets saw an 18.1 percent jump in attendance this year.
The most expensive ticket in the majors belongs to the Boston Red Sox; at Fenway Park, it'll cost $52.34 on average. That's slightly higher than the next-place team, the New York Yankees. At $51.55, Yankee Stadium is the only other team that has average ticket price north of $50 per ticket. At the other end of the spectrum, the San Diego Padres are the cheapest tickets at $16.37.
On the bright side, hopefully the increase in attendance and the increase in ticket prices means the Mets will actually spend a bit more money next year.
