The 2015 Mets had some of the best hitting pitchers in the National League. This year, Mets pitchers finished first in RBI (28), second in home runs (two), on-base percentage (.187), slugging percentage (.203), wRC+ (seven), and offensive WAR (1.0), third in batting average (.163), fifth in doubles (seven), and eighth in runs scored (16).
The Giants had the best offensive pitching staff in the National League. Madison Bumgarner led the way with an impressive .247/.275/.468 batting line (107 wRC+), along with five home runs, nine RBI, nine runs scored, and two doubles. Three others Giants pitchers—Jake Peavy, Tim Hudson, and Ryan Vogelsong—also contributed a homer apiece.
