Noah Syndergaard isn't going anywhere when Dillon Gee returns, says Terry Collins. Gee is set to return to the Mets today and will rejoin the rotation when he's activated, giving the Mets a 6-man staff.

David Wright and Travis d'Arnaud took batting practice yesterday and could start rehab assignments this week.

Lucas Duda has defied the odds and appears to be a worthy everyday player now!

Dan Warthen says that Matt Harvey's entire arsenal is working. He has a 1.98 ERA, so yeah.

Rough break for Brandon Nimmo, despite the news actually being somewhat positive in sum.

There's good and bad surrounding Mets' shortstop prospect Matt Reynolds.

Around the NL East

Max Scherzer and the Nationals won 2-1 over the Phillies. The Nats are on fire right now and still not even kicking at all cylinders. Impressive.

The Brewers smacked the Braves around to an 11-0 score.

After the Marlins fell to the Orioles 8-5, they placed both Henderson Alvarez and Mat Latos on the disabled list with injuries. Yikes.

The Marlins considered hiring Jim Leyland before picking Dan Jennings. Leyland likely costs a lot of money. You do the math.

Around the Majors

Want to learn a little more about exit velocity? Apparently, it's 5 parts hitter and 1 part pitcher.

Will Smith misbehaved and got 8 games for it. The Brewers' lefty, not the Fresh Prince.

Norge Ruiz, considered the best pitching prospect left in Cuba, has defected and is looking to sign with a team willing to spend money (not the Mets).

A Rays affiliate created a promotion called "A-Rod Juice Box Night". Unfortunately, it pissed the Yankees off and they were forced to cancel it.

Chris McShane wanted the Mets to keep Noah Syndergaard and move Dillon Gee to the pen. Sorry, Chris. #ShouldOf called Sandy.
