Final Score: Braves 6, Mets 4—Weird baseball

Noah Syndergaard didn't last long, but the Mets lost the game after he departed.

Brett Davis-USA TODAY Sports

The Mets lost in Turner Field again this evening, this time in a strange game. Noah Syndergaard labored through four innings and gave up four runs, though one of those runs was unearned. The game included a play on which neither shortstop Ruben Tejada nor second baseman Dilson Herrera covered second base on a stolen base by the Braves. Travis d'Arnaud left with an injury to his elbow, which at least sounds like it's not too bad of an injury.

Anyways, the Mets lost 6-4. They had a 2-0 lead after the first inning, trailed 4-2 after the fourth, and came back to tie the game on solo home runs by Curtis Granderson and d'Arnaud in the fifth and sixth innings, respectively, and gave up two runs in the sixth to fall behind. Neither team scored again.
