Final Score: Cubs 1, Mets 0—Will the Mets ever score another run?

Jon Niese pitched well, but the Mets could not hit.

Adam Hunger-USA TODAY Sports

The Mets were shut out by the Cubs, continuing a dreadful stretch of offense that goes back a few weeks now. It's a shame they couldn't score, as Jon Niese gave up just one run in seven innings of work and the bullpen pitched two scoreless innings. In other news, Michael Cuddyer left the game early with a sore left knee, which probably has folks hoping Michael Conforto will be called up in the near future.
