In Mets starting pitchers' latest game of "Anything you can hit, I can hit harder," Matt Harvey launched his first career home run to give the Mets a lead they wouldn't relinquish in a 4-2 win over the Arizona Diamondbacks.
Harvey's day started rough, allowing a first-inning, two-run home run to David Peralta, and his control was a bit shaky as he walked four. However, he was able to strike out nine and hold the Diamondbacks off the board for the rest of his seven inning start. Lucas Duda and Ruben "Muscles" Tejada also homered as the Mets have come out of their nine-game home run drought with a fury.
Bobby Parnell and All-Star snub Jeurys Familia each pitched a scoreless inning to lock up the win.
