For this week's Mind Boggler, we're asking you to name every Met to make an All-Star team. Since we're still holding out hope that Jeurys Familia will find his way onto this year's roster, we'll limit the search to the years 1962 through 2014.
Mets to make an All-Star team.
This year's All-Star Game will be played tomorrow at 7 p.m. at Great American Ballpark in Cincinnati. Jacob deGrom will be the Mets' sole representative.
deGrom had an outstanding first half for the Mets, going 9-6 with a 2.14 ERA (60 ERA-), a 2.63 FIP (70 FIP-), 8.87 K/9, 1.66 BB/9, and just 0.63 HR/9 in 113.2 innings pitched. He has been especially dominant of late: In his last 10 starts, the righty went 6-2 with a minuscule 1.38 ERA, and threw eight scoreless innings in four of those starts.
You'll have eight minutes for this quiz. There are a bunch of low-hanging fruit, but also a few less memorable names from the darker years of franchise history.
Good luck, and remember to post your time and score in the comments!
