Triple-A - Las Vegas 51s (55-38)_______________________________________
LAS VEGAS 4, ALBUQUERQUE 2 (Box)
Darin Gorski was wild, walking five in five innings, but limited the Isotopes to two runs. A slew of relievers were able to keep Albuquerque off the board and preserve the win for the 51s. Dilson Herrera had another good day, going 2-for-4 with a double and a stolen base. Travis Taijeron was also 2-for-4 with a double.
- 2B Dilson Herrera: 2-4, 2 R, 2B, SB; with Flores struggling, I think replacing him with Herrera is something that should be considered seriously—injecting some speed (and the ability to actually hit a pitch away) might help the offense, and every little bit counts
- 3B T.J. Rivera: 1-4, R, RBI
- 1B Brooks Conrad: 1-3, R, 2B, BB, K, SB
- LF Brandon Allen: 0-3, RBI, BB
- RF Travis Taijeron: 2-4, 2B, RBI, K; maybe DFA Mayberry and give Taijeron a try? I'm reaching at this point for answers, but it'd be nice to see the front office try something, anything, different
- CF Cory Vaughn: 0-3, BB, K
- C Dan Rohlfing: 0-3, 2 K
- PH Jayce Boyd: 0-1
- SS Wilfredo Tovar: 0-3
- P Darin Gorski: 1-2, K
- C Anthony Recker: 0-1
- P Darin Gorski: 5.0 IP, 2 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 5 BB, 3 K
- P Cody Satterwhite: 1.0 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 1 BB, 2 K
- P Scott Rice: 1.0 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 BB, 0 K
- P Vic Black: 0.2 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 BB, 1 K
Double-A - Binghamton Mets (48-43)_____________________________________
BINGHAMTON 6, TRENTON 3 (Box)
Gavin Cecchini and Michael Conforto both had big days, going a combined 5-for-8, and the pitching was solid enough to get Binghamton the win. Joe Benson, the former Twins top prospect, stayed hot, going 2-for-4 as the DH. In less positive new, Brandon Nimmo went 0-for-4 and still has yet to really start mashing at Double-A as many hoped.
- SS Gavin Cecchini: 3-4, R, 2 RBI
- 2B L.J. Mazzilli: 1-4, R, RBI, 3 K
- LF Michael Conforto: 2-4, 2B, K, E; after being firmly opposed to the PROMOAT bandwagon, I'm slowly coming around to the idea. It'd be hard for Conforto to be worse than the Mets' current left field options
- 1B Brock Peterson: 0-2, RBI, 2 BB, 2 K
- CF Brandon Nimmo: 0-4, RBI
- 3B Josh Rodriguez: 1-4, R, HR, RBI, K
- DH Joe Benson: 2-4, 2 R, 2B
- C Xorge Carrillo: 1-3, R, BB, 2 K, E
- RF Jared King: 0-4
- RHP John Gant: 6.0 IP, 5 H, 3 R, 3 ER, 1 BB, 7 K
- LHP Adam Kolarek: 1.0 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 BB, 0 K
- LHP Josh Smoker: 1.0 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 BB, 0 K; former Nats first rounder has a 4.88 K/BB and 2.90 ERA across three levels this year
- RHP Jon Velasquez: 1.0 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 BB, 3 K
Advanced-A - St. Lucie Mets (38-37 / 3-2)_____________________________________
DUNEDIN 10, ST. LUCIE 3 (Box)
Jeff Moore was again at this game, and things did not go well for St. Lucie (lobby he just stays away from the Mets). Rob Whalen got beat up and knuckelballer Micheky Jannis didn't look any better in relief. Amed Rosario and Jhoan Urena both went 0-for-4. BROOKLYN 4, STATEN ISLAND 3 (Box)

A quartet of relievers then threw four-and-a-third perfect innings with nine strikeouts to hold on to the lead for Brooklyn.
