Michael Conforto of the Binghamton Mets has been named the Eastern League Player of the Week for the period of July 13-July 19. The 22-year-old outfielder hit .438 on the week, going 7-for-16 with two home runs and three runs batted in over that span. He also had a 1.000 slugging percentage and totaled 16 bases over the four games he played last week.
In 41 games with Binghamton this season, Conforto has hit .325/.404/.529 with 5 home runs and 24 RBI. He continues to showcase his offensive prowess and justify his high praise among the rankings of the top prospects in baseball. He was ranked the 12th best prospect in baseball by ESPN baseball expert Keith Law on his 2015 mid-season rankings.
Amazin' Avenue's Jeffrey Paternostro has written an excellent scouting report on the Mets' outfield prospect. With the way that Conforto is hitting in the minor league level and Michael Cuddyer's potential trip to the disabled list, he could conceivably be called up to the Mets in the near future.
