The box score will show a 1-for-3 for Michael Conforto but that doesn't do him justice. His two outs were smoked but ran down by the center fielder. One he caught leaping up against the fence in dead-center--about 400 feet from home plate--and the other he caught on a full extension sprint in left-center. There have been a lot of grumbling from Mets fans about calling up Conforto and I am now fully on-board with my hope being that he can give something around league average for a left-fielder, say .255/.315/.410. I think that's reasonable and doable, and would go a long way to helping the Mets offense.
