The Mets lost to the Dodgers this evening, as Jon Niese struggled mightily in his start. The lefty gave up six runs in three innings, and even though the team's bullpen allowed just one run to the Dodgers over the course of the rest of the game. That lone run came on a Jimmy Rollins solo home run in the eighth against Hansel Robles.
As for the offense, the Mets didn't score until they plated a run in the fifth on a Michael Conforto ground out. They scored once more in the sixth on a Daniel Murphy single, but that was it. On the upside, there is help on the way.
