Friday was a day of moves for the Mets, beginning with the promotion of Michael Conforto in the morning. Michael Cuddyer is off to the disabled list and the Mets moved Rafael Montero to the 60-day DL to open up a roster spot. Conforto went hitless but did knock in his first RBI.
Just prior to game time, word broke that the Mets acquired infielder Juan Uribe and utility man Kelly Johnson from the Braves in exchange for minor league pitchers John Gant and Rob Whalen. To make room, they designated John Mayberry for assignment and demoted Danny Muno, as well as moving David Wright to the 60-day DL. It seems like the Mets got themselves a great clubhouse presence in Uribe.
Trade talks aren't through for the Mets, who may be dangling injured starter Zack Wheeler for a bigger bat.
