On a night that had everyone paying attention to things other than the major league game at hand, Bartolo Colon gave up six runs on ten hits in just two-and-one-third innings. That made for one of his worst outings as a Met, and unfortunately, the Mets could not come back from the deficit. Lucas Duda hit three home runs, though, which was pretty neat.
All of that took a back seat to the Mets' trade, though, as they acquired Carlos Gomez for Zack Wheeler and Wilmer Flores, the latter of whom learned about it during the game and was still in the game when he understandably got emotional about it.
