Jack Leathersich has been placed on the 7-day disabled list by the Las Vegas 51s, according to the Pacific Coast League's transaction page. The 24-year-old got his first taste of the big leagues this season and in 17 games had a 2.31 ERA in 11.2 innings pitched. Leathersich was optioned back to Triple-A Las Vegas on June 28, and perhaps his first appearance back with the team had something to do with the injury.

According to the game logs, on June 29, Leathersich made his return to the 51s. He pitched two innings, giving up six runs, four walks, and two home runs—while throwing 57 pitches. Looking at some of his previous outings with the team, he never threw more then 56 pitches in back-to-back outings. For example, Leathersich threw 31 pitches in two innings on April 18. He had thrown four pitches the day before that. His next appearance on April 21 saw him throw 25 pitches in one inning of work.
