Final Score: Mets 4, Giants 1—deGrom, Giant Slayer

The Mets went 4-2 on their west coast trip.

Lance Iversen-USA TODAY Sports

Jacob deGrom dominated the Giants in a bounce-back start, striking out ten while walking two and allowing only two hits in eight shutout innings. The Mets' offense sputtered again for much of the game, but a Brandon Crawford error allowed Ruben Tejeda to bring home the game's first run in the sixth.

Juan Lagares drove in the game's deciding run in the seventh with an RBI ground out, and Eric Campbell added some insurance in the ninth with a two-run home run, the first Mets home run in ten games. Bobby Parnell came on to pitch the ninth but faltered and gave up his first run of the season. Terry Collins quickly replace him with Jeurys Familia, who locked down the save and a rare winning west coast road trip for the Mets.
