The Mets beat the Rockies 4-2 this evening at Citi Field. They trailed 2-1 heading into the seventh inning, but they took advantage of a struggling Colorado bullpen to score three runs. That was more than enough for Tyler Clippard and Jeurys Familia, each of whom threw a perfect inning to finish off the win.
Before all that, Jon Niese threw seven very good innings. His only mistake came on a two-run Carlos Gonzalez home run in the fourth inning. And before that, Travis d'Arnaud hit a solo home run that put the Mets up 1-0 in the second inning.
