The Mets lost to the Orioles 5-4 on a walk-off home run that broke a 4-4 tie in the bottom of the ninth inning. The Mets scored first on a Daniel Murphy home run in the first inning, and Wilmer Flores brought home the team's second run on a single in the fourth.
Noah Syndergaard, who escaped a bases-loaded jam in the first inning, gave up one run in the fourth. The Mets answered that with a run in the fifth, but Syndergaard gave up a game-tying two-run home run to Jonathan Schoop in the sixth. Wilmer Flores put the Mets back on top with a solo home run in the seventh, but the Orioles tied the game on a solo home run hit by Adam Jones against Hansel Robles in the bottom of that inning. And Carlos Torres gave up the aforementioned home run in the ninth to Henry Urrutia, his first major league home run.
