LAS VEGAS 10, NEW ORLEANS 6 (Box)
What happens in Vegas, also often happens, uh, elsewhere in the Pacific Coast League.

- P Cody Satterwhite: 1.0 IP, 3 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 1 BB, 1 K; His name hasn't come up as a potential September bullpen arm, but it's a big arm and all things considered, he's done pretty well for Vegas this year.
- P Chase Huchingson: 1.0 IP, 2 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 1 BB, 0 K
- P Zach Thornton: 1.0 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 BB, 2 K

Double-A - Binghamton Mets (69-59)_____________________________________
BINGHAMTON 3, ERIE 1 (Box)
If you are in a Double-A playoff race, there are worse strategies out there than a six inning rehab start from Steven Matz. That, and a two-run bomb from Josh Rodriguez is all the B-Mets needed to extend their lead to three games over Trenton for a wild card spot.
- 2B L.J. Mazzilli: 1-4, K
- SS T.J. Rivera: 1-4, R, K
- 3B Josh Rodriguez: 1-4, R, HR, 2 RBI, K
- DH Brock Peterson: 0-3, BB, K
- 1B Vince Belnome: 0-3, 2 K
- CF Joe Benson: 1-3, R, 2B
- LF Jonathan Galvez: 1-2, RBI
- C Xorge Carrillo: 1-3
- RF Jared King: 1-3
- REHAB ALERT: P Steven Matz: 6.0 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 BB, 6 K; That'll play
- P Gabriel Ynoa: 2.0 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 BB, 0 K; Some scuttlebutt that Ynoa might be a September call-up to help fortify the pen. The stuff certainly could play up there, but I wonder if this is just unsourced "well, he's on the 40" speculation.
- P Jon Velasquez: 1.0 IP, 2 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 0 BB, 1 K
Advanced-A - St. Lucie Mets (30-28 // 65-63)_____________________________________

NO GAME (SCHEDULE)
Low-A - Savannah Sand Gnats (37-19 // 76-50)__________________________________
SAVANNAH 4, ASHEVILLE 3 (Box)
Savanah also beat Asheville 4-3 the last time I did a daily reports. Gnats went 30-6 in the interim. There is a reason Jose Leger won BA's best managerial candidate in this league. Dude gets it.
- 2B Jonathan Johnson: 0-5
- SS Luis Guillorme: 4-5, R, 2 2B, SB; Guillorme has heated up as the weather has gotten warmer (though I guess it always hot in Savannah. He is starting to get a bit of national attention now, and you all probably know my feelings on the glove by now, but the slash and bunt style he uses at the plate is a tough road to take as defenses and spray charts get better at higher levels. Tough to bet against 80 makeup guys though.
- RF Wuilmer Becerra: 0-4, R, BB, SB
- 3B Eudor Garcia: 2-5, R, 2 RBI; Garcia has quietly put together a pretty nice season for the Sand Gnats, though the K-rate and defensive profile bear further watching.
- 1B Michael Katz: 1-2, R, 2 BB, K
- LF John Mora: 0-3, BB
- DH Tomas Nido: 1-4, 2 RBI, 2 K
- PR-DH Oswald Caraballo: 0-0
- C Natanael Ramos: 1-4, K
- CF Patrick Biondi: 0-3, BB, 2 K
- P Casey Delgado: 6.1 IP, 5 H, 2 R, 1 ER, 3 BB, 4 K
- P Ben Griset: 0.2 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 BB, 0 K
- P Luis Mateo: 1.0 IP, 1 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 1 BB, 1 K
- P Alberto Baldonado: 1.0 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 BB, 2 K
SS-A - Brooklyn Cyclones (30-33)_______________________________________
HUDSON VALLEY 4, BROOKLYN 0 (Box)
Wasn't planning on dropping in on a Brooklyn team that is prospect poor and just playing out the string, but then they promoted Desmond Lindsay. You win again, JW.
- SS Alfredo Reyes: 1-4, K, SB
- 2B Vincent Siena: 0-2, 2 BB
- 3B David Thompson: 1-4, K, SB
- DH Jeff Diehl: 1-4

- P Ruben Reyes: 1.1 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 BB, 3 K
- P Christian Montgomery: 1.2 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 1 BB, 2 K
Rookie - Kingsport Mets (35-27)__________________________
KINGSPORT 1, GREENEVILE 0 (Box)
Behind a strong slot from 2014 overslot prep pick Eric Manoah, Kingsport is starting to pull away in the Appy League West playoff race.
- LF Kevin Kaczmarski: 2-5, 2B
- 2B Luis Carpio: 0-5, 2 K; Probably not the best day to drop this commentary in, but I only do one of these a month: Carpio has a better case as the #1 prospect in the system then most of the names that will be bandied about for that honor this offseason.
- 1B Dash Winningham: 0-4, 3 K
- DH Patrick Mazeika: 2-3, R, BB, SB
- 3B Luis Ortega: 1-4, K
- SS Milton Ramos: 2-2, RBI; After a short slump upon his return to Kingsport, Ramos has been tearing the cover off the ball. Hitting .343 over his last ten games, and I was impressed with the bat.
- CF Ivan Wilson: 0-3, BB, K
- RF Arnaldo Berrios: 1-4, 3 K
- C Darryl Knight: 0-3
- P Erik Manoah: 6.0 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 3 BB, 6 K

- P Raul Jacobson: 1.2 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 BB, 2 K
Star of the Night
Johnny Monell, Johnny Monell, kickin' upton, kickin' downtown, kickin' crosstown
Goat of the Night
I like Dash Winningham, but we have rules around this place.
