Choosing which meter to run first this morning was like asking whether you wanted the good news or the really good news. But the pitchers have been the strength of this team all season, and they'll go first today. There were some blips here—a couple of big ones, actually. But there were some downright fantastic performances, too, which highlighted the week.
Player | Last Week | This Week | Comment |
---|---|---|---|
Jerry Blevins, LHP | ![]() |

There’s no telling how long it’ll take for him to rehab his way back to the big leagues, but Blevins has been cleared to throw. |
Bartolo Colon, RHP | ![]() |
![]() |
23.14 ERA sums it up. |
Tyler Clippard, RHP | -- | ![]() |
Clippard’s first week as a Met was a very good one. |
Jacob deGrom, RHP | ![]() |
![]() |
deGrom wasn’t dominant, but he still struck out seven, walked one, and allowed just two runs in six innings. |
Jeurys Familia, RHP | ![]() |
![]() |
Overall, Familia had a 7.36 ERA, which is not good. But he looked much better in his more recent outings than he had previously, which is encouraging. |
Sean Gilmartin, LHP | ![]() |
![]() |
He made just one appearance, but he struck out five in two innings without giving up any runs. |
Erik Goeddel, RHP | ![]() |
![]() |
He’s been out a while, but Goeddel made a rehab appearance yesterday. |
Matt Harvey, RHP | ![]() |
![]() |
Harvey was excellent against the Nationals on Friday night with 9 strikeouts, no walks, and just one run allowed in 7.2 innings. |
Steven Matz, LHP | ![]() |
![]() |
The lefty isn’t throwing just yet. |
Jon Niese, LHP | ![]() |
![]() |
Niese gave up just a run in six innings with 6 strikeouts and one walk. Mets pitchers are good. |
Bobby Parnell, RHP | ![]() |
![]() |
Parnell had a 15.43 ERA for the week. |
Hansel Robles, RHP | ![]() |
![]() |
Robles had a 2.45 ERA for the week and pitched a very impressive inning against the Nationals on Saturday night. He did, however, serve up a grand slam in the Mets’ big loss on Thursday, though the three baserunners were inherited from Parnell. |
Noah Syndergaard, RHP | ![]() |
![]() |
In two starts, Syndergaard pitched 16 innings with a 1.13 ERA, 18 strikeouts, and zero walks. That is good. |
Alex Torres, LHP | ![]() |
![]() |
Sure, he walked three batters in his only outing of the week, but he managed to go two-and-two-thirds without allowing any hits or runs. |
Carlos Torres, RHP | ![]() |
![]() |
Torres only threw one inning, but it was a very good one. |
