In perhaps the most brutally inept game of the season, the Mets prevailed over the Braves 10-7. The Mets repeatedly tried to hand the game to the Braves, starting reserve players, making at least six notable defensive miscues, and using the worst relievers they had available. Somehow the Braves were simply too bad to take advantage, coughing up a three-run lead after the Mets were down to their last out in the ninth on a Daniel Murphy home run. Edwin Jackson then allowed three more runs in the tenth, clearing the way for Addison Reed's first save with the Mets.
The win (which is a generous term for the result of this game) drops the Mets' magic number to 11 and pushes their current winning streak to seven games. Next up are the Marlins at Citi Field.
