The Mets' organization, as has been well documented, preaches a selective approach at the plate. This year, the Mets rank 10th in the majors with a 7.9% walk rate (BB%). For this week's Mind Boggler, we're asking you to name every player in Mets history with a walk rate of at least 15.0% in a season.
Curtis Granderson has been the most patient everyday player on the Mets this year. Among those with at least 200 plate appearances, Granderson has the highest walk rate (13.2%) and the lowest swing rate (39.1%). He also has the lowest rate of swinging at pitches both in (61.2%) and out (21.5%) of the zone.
You'll have four minutes for this quiz. To qualify, the player had to have at least 400 plate appearances in a season. Good luck, and remember to post your time and score in the comments!
