Final Score: Mets 4, Marlins 3—David Wright delivers

David Wright drove in the go-ahead run in the seventh to finish a comeback win over the Marlins.

Anthony Gruppuso-USA TODAY Sports

The Mets won their eighth straight game tonight, beating the Marlins 4-3 in another comeback win. In Yoenis Cespedes's latest feat of strength, he homered into the second deck in left field to get the Mets on the board. Logan Verrett started and pitched a strong five innings, allowing only one run. Sean Gilmartin surrendered a pair of runs in the sixth, but the Mets rallied back with a Travis d'Arnaud two-run home run and a go-ahead, ground-rule double from David Wright. Jeurys Familia pitched a clean ninth inning for his 41st save of the year and is now only two saves short of Armando Benitez's club record.

With the win, the Mets' magic number is now 10 (Endy Chavez). Their lead in the division is also 10 games, both pending the result of the Nationals' game in Philadelphia.
