The Mets added two big names to their Arizona Fall League plans, announcing the inclusion of shortstop Gavin Cecchini and first baseman Dominic Smith.

Among Mets prospects, Cecchini and Smith rank number 4 and number 7, respectively, on Amazin' Avenue's midseason prospect list. That list includes Michael Conforto, who has excelled with the big club in the second half, as well as Michael Fulmer and Casey Meisner, both of whom were traded at the deadline.

Cecchini, 21, hit .317/.377/.442 with seven home runs for Double-A Binghamton this season. The 2012 first-round draft pick took a major step forward after hitting .247/.328/.378 through three leagues last year. The 20-year-old Smith, selected 11th overall in 2013, also enjoyed a promising campaign. In 118 games at Single-A St. Lucie, the lefty hit .305/.354/.417 with six homers, 33 doubles, and 79 RBI.

Cecchini and Smith will join infielder Jeff McNeil and right-handed pitchers Beck Wheeler and Ricky Jannis on the Salt River Rafters, which will feature players from the Mets, Toronto Blue Jays, Arizona Diamondbacks, Washington Nationals, and Colorado Rockies. They'll play their first game in Scottsdale, Arizona on October 13.
