As the Mets try to put the wraps on a National League East division title, Bovada released updated odds last night for the winners of both League Championship Series and the World Series.
Currently, the Mets' odds of winning it all stand at 6-to-1, in a three-way tie for third with the Dodgers and Cardinals. That's a change from 9/1 odds a few weeks ago. The Blue Jays are 4-to-1 favorites, followed by the defending American League champion Royals (11/2). As for the National League pennant, New York is a co-favorite with Los Angeles and St. Louis (5/2), with the Pirates (5/1) and Cubs (6/1) right behind them.
It's interesting to see the Mets even with the Dodgers and Cardinals at this point. While the Cardinals appear as if they will finish with the best record in baseball, the Dodgers are .500 in their last ten games and are just a game and a half ahead of the Mets for home field between the two teams. Even less surprising are the Blue Jays and Royals leading the pack in the American League, and Toronto being touted as the favorite to win their first title since 1993.
Here's the full list of current World Series odds.
