The Mets beat the Reds 6-4 tonight in Cincinnati, and combined with the Nationals' loss this afternoon, the team now has a magic number of three to win the National League East. Steven Matz was decent in his start—dominant early but not-so-dominant late. He gave up three runs in five-and-two-thirds innings with eight strikeouts and zero walks.
As for the offense, the Mets scored three runs in the third inning and three more in the seventh. That was more than enough to win the game, as Hansel Robles was the only Mets relief pitcher to allow a run, and he allowed just one on a solo home run.
