On this Labor Day Monday, we're paying tribute to the great workhorses in Mets history. For this week's Mind Boggler, we'd like you to name every Mets pitcher with at least 75 appearances in a season.
Since signing with the team in 2013, Carlos Torres leads all Mets pitchers with 160 appearances. Ten of them came in spot starts, with the other 150 in relief. While he hasn't made 75 appearances in any single season, the righty did come close with 73 in 2014. His 54 appearances in 2015 put him on pace for 65 by year's end.
Torres also leads Mets pitchers with 182.0 innings pitched in relief since 2013. During that time, he has a solid 3.54 ERA (99 ERA-) and 3.96 FIP (105 FIP-), with 8.14 K/9, 2.66 BB/9, and 1.18 HR/9. A reliable, league-average innings eater, Torres has been a valuable piece of the Mets' pen during his tenure with the team.
You'll have three minutes for this quiz. Good luck and remember to post your time and score in the comments!
