For Mets manager Terry Collins, 2015 represented easily his most successful season as a big league manager. After 11 years on the bench between the Houston Astros, Anaheim Angels, and the Mets, the veteran skipper finally got to experience the thrill of postseason baseball and navigated successfully to the World Series. No matter your feelings on Terry Collins the manager, you have to feel pretty great for Terry Collins the human being, a man who's invested his entire body and soul into the game over his 66 years.
In commemoration of Collins' career and the Mets' excellent season, MLB Network is going to air a one-hour special called "Terry Collins: A Baseball Life". Hosted by MLB Network's Bob Costas, this show will feature Terry's first television interview since the end of the World Series in November. Additionally, managerial colleagues Joe Maddon, Tony La Russa, and Jim Leyland will be featured, explaining their relationships and unique experiences with Collins throughout their careers.
Terry Collins: A Baseball Life will air on MLB Network next Tuesday, January 12 at 9:00 PM. Check out the video up above for a preview. Looks like it should be good!
