The ALCS and NLCS continue this week as the Indians take on the Blue Jays and the Dodgers play the Cubs. For this week’s Mind Boggler, we’re asking you to name the starting lineups in Game 1 of one of the more memorable playoff series in Mets history: the 1973 NLCS against Cincinnati’s Big Red Machine.

The Reds were the heavy favorites in that series, having compiled a regular season record of 99-63, compared to the Mets’ record of just 82-79. Cincinnati also featured a stacked lineup with several future Hall of Famers.

At the time, the NLCS was a best-of-five series, and the Mets-Reds series went all five games. The first two games were played in Cincinnati, where the Reds took Game 1 and the Mets evened up the series in Game 2. The series then moved to New York, where the Mets won Game 3, the Reds took Game 4, and the Mets won the deciding Game 5 to advance to the World Series. The Mets, once again the heavy underdogs, took that series to seven games before losing to the Swingin’ A’s.

You’ll have three minutes for this quiz. Good luck, and remember to post your time and score in the comments!
