AAOP: There must be a mistake.

The chances of my being named general manager of the Mets are about as high as the chances that Donald Trump could be elected Presdent of the United States. Oh, you don't say. Well, in that case, thanks for the honor. Players I'm trading: Jay Bruce, Curtis Granderson and Asdrubal Cabrera. With the chips from those trades, I'm acquiring Yasiel Puig from the Dodgers, and whatever prospects I can get for the future. With the short-term money saved from those trades, I'm acquiring free agents Jon Jay and Boone Logan, and I'm re-signing 2016 Mets free agents Yoenis Cespedes and Fernando Salas. The 25-man roster:

Catchers: Travis d'Arnaud $1.7M and Rene Rivera $2.2M

First base platoon: David Wright $20M and Lucas Duda $6.7M

Second base: Neil Walker $17.2M

Shortstop: Amed Rosario $0.6M

Third base platoon, and backup at the other infield spots: Jose Reyes $0.5M and Wilmer Flores $1.9

Left field: Yoenis Cespedes $24 M per year for five years

Center field platoon: Juan Lagares $4.5M and Jon Jay $6.2M a year for three years

Right field platoon: Michael Conforto $0.6M and Yasiel Puig $8.2M (and $9.2M in 2018)

Starting pitchers: Noah Syndergaard $0.8M, Jacob deGrom $4.5M, Matt Harvey $5.2M, Steveven Matz $0.6M, Zack Wheeler $1.0M

Long relief/sixth starter: Robert Gsellman $0.6M

Righty short relievers: Jeurys Familia $8.7M, Addison Reed $10.6M, Fernando Salas $6.8M a year for two years

Lefty short relievers: Josh Edgin $0.8M, Josh Smoker $0.6M, Boone Logan $5.5M a year for three years

13 position players (5 OF, 6 INF, 2 C), $94.3M for 2017

12 starting and relief pitchers: $45.7M for 2017

$140.0M total

Remaing in the organization and ready for callup as needed: Seth Lugo, T.J. Rivera, Brandon Nimmo, etc.
