Baseball America has released its list of the Mets’ top ten prospects for the 2017 season, and as will be the case on every Mets list you see this offseason, shortstop Amed Rosario comes in at number one. Here’s BA’s full top ten:
- Amed Rosario, SS
- Dominic Smith, 1B
- Justin Dunn, RHP
- Desmond Lindsay, OF
- Brandon Nimmo, OF
- Gavin Cecchini, 2B/SS
- Robert Gsellman, RHP
- Thomas Szapucki, LHP
- Gabriel Ynoa, RHP
- Tomas Nido, C
There’s quite a bit of difference between BA’s list and the Baseball Prospectus list of the Mets’ top ten that was released earlier in the offseason. And we’re in the process of counting down our list of the Mets’ top twenty-five prospects here at Amazin’ Avenue, which has some differences compared to BA’s list, as well. Perhaps the most glaring thing about BA’s list is that Robert Gsellman, who had a great showing in his first stint in the majors, ranks all the way down at seventh.
