Mrs. Met shows off her engagement ring, and it's a doozy!

One Met seems to be rolling in dough these days, and it isn't Yoenis Cespedes.

Anthony Gruppuso-USA TODAY Sports

It's no secret that the Wilpons' spendthrift ways have angered many Mets fans over the years. Just yesterday, Amazin' Avenue's own Greg Karam lamented the "baffling" release of Reuben Tejada to save a few bucks. Some fans have even taken to calling the Wilpons "the Coupons" in protest of their perceived miserliness.

There is, however, one Mets figure who seems to be rolling in dough these days—and no, we're not talking about Yoenis "never met a car I didn't like" Cespedes. We're talking about Mr. Met.

Mrs. Met, a prolific Twitter user, whom you really should be following (@mrsmet), posted a photo of her engagement ring on National Proposal Day, and let's just say even Cespedes isn't throwing this kind of money around:

That right there is about four or five Reuben Tejadas. Bravo, Mr. Met!

Mrs. Met's ring easily ranks among the largest celebrity rings in history. How Mr. Met was able to afford it is anyone's guess, but he has been working in the Mets organization since 1964, so his pension has to be massive at this point.

One can only imagine the sort of happy dance Mrs. Met did before gleefully accepting the proposal.

Mr. and Mrs. Met will be celebrating their diamond 60th anniversary in 2024, so we certainly hope Mr. Met is saving up, as it will be hard to top that engagement ring.
