The Mets and Marlins played in Port St. Lucie this afternoon, the Mets' first home game of their Grapefruit League schedule. With the Mets delaying game action for their starting rotation through the first few games of that schedule, Logan Verrett got the start against the Marlins. He gave up two runs in two innings of work, both of which scored on a second-inning home run by a player named Destin Hood.

Down 3-0 in the bottom of the fifth, the Mets scored a couple of runs, and they tied the game with a run in the seventh. After Jerry Blevins gave up a run in the top of the ninth, the Mets got their highlight of the game when Dilson Herrera hit an inside-the-park home run in the bottom of the ninth to tie the game.
