Final score: Mets 5, Phillies 2—Syndergaard excellent, Wright hits two home runs

Noah Syndergaard was dominant, and David Wright hit two home runs in the Mets' win.

Bill Streicher-USA TODAY Sports

The Mets beat the Phillies 5-2 tonight in Philadelphia for their second straight win. Noah Syndergaard struck out eight, walked two, and gave up just one run in seven innings to continue his phenomenal start to the season. David Wright hit two home runs—both opposite field solo shots—Lucas Duda drove in Yoenis Cespedes, who had tripled, with a double and hit a solo home run of his own, and Neil Walker followed up Duda's home run with home run, too.

Antonio Bastardo struck out the side in the eighth, though he did walk one batter in the process. And Jeurys Familia gave up a couple of hits to start the ninth and gave up a run in the inning, but he struck out two to finish the win.

Full recap to follow.
