Despite Yoenis Cespedes getting the night off, the Mets' offense continued to roll in Atlanta. The Mets had never hit a home run against starter Jhoulys Chacin, and that streak continued in the first inning. Lucas Duda drove in the first run with a sacrifice fly, and a Freddie Freeman error brought home the second run. David Wright contributed with a two-out RBI double in the fourth, and Asdrubal Cabrera followed with a two-out RBI single in the seventh.
Steven Matz was not as dominant as he was in Cleveland but did well overall. He gave up nine hits and two runs but bared down when he needed to. He finished the night with eight strikeouts and went six-and-one-thirdthird innings.
The bullpen kept the Braves off the board and the offense exploded for three runs in the ninth, scoring two on back-to-back home runs by Neil Walker and Asdrubal Cabrera.
