Triple-A - Las Vegas 51s (9-10)_______________________________________
TACOMA 1, LAS VEGAS 8 (Box) F/5
Sean Gilmartin threw a five-inning complete game in a rain-shortened win at Cashman Field last night over the Rainiers. The 51s peppered Tacoma starter Donn Roach early and often, with every 51s player collecting a hit and/or a run (except Johnny Monell) despite only accumulating 25 plate appearances.
Rafael Montero is the probable starter for tonight's matchup against the Rainiers.
Double-A - Binghamton Mets (9-9)_____________________________________
NO GAME (OFF DAY)
The B-Mets are returning to the field tonight against the New Hampshire Fisher Cats in Manchester. Rainy Lara is the probable starter.
Advanced-A - St. Lucie Mets (13-8)_____________________________________
ST. LUCIE 3, CHARLOTTE 10 (Box)
Corey Oswalt didn't have a good night against the Stone Crabs, as every Charlotte starter had a hit and combined for four home runs and three triples. However, three S-Mets—Michael Katz, Kevin Taylor, and Wuilmer Becerra—had two hits apiece.
St. Lucie returns to Tradition Field tonight to begin a series with the Palm Beach Cardinals.
Low-A - Columbia Fireflies (12-9)__________________________________
LEXINGTON 6, COLUMBIA 5 (Box)
Thomas McIlraith and Alex Paisha were stellar for the first 18 and last four outs, respectively, however Seth Davis and the Fireflies weren't very good for the middle five outs, as a three-run eighth-inning outburst by the Legends gave them the 6-5 lead they would not relinquish. David Thompson hit his second home run of the season, and the 10th for Columbia thus far.
Columbia finishes this current homestand starting tonight with a four-game series against the Kannapolis Intimidators, Kevin Canelon is expected to take the Spirit Communications Park mound tonight.
Star of the Night
Sean Gilmartin, because even Ol' Gil gets a victory now and then.
Goat of the Night
Corey Oswalt
