Muppet Avenue: We turned the Mets into Muppets!

That's right, the Mets fans are at it again. First there was Puppy Avenue, now there is Muppet Avenue!

Mets Keith Hernandez and Mookie Wilson pose with The Count from Sesame Street

Our community of Mets fans is really great, as evidenced by our Puppy Avenue piece earlier this week. But what happens when you get a couple of Mets off days in a row after a nice win? That community begins to come up with new ideas and on Thursday, they came up with a great one.

Mets reliever Jim Henderson was given the nickname "Muppet" in our comment section, I'm assuming due to the similarity of his name to Muppets creator Jim Henson. This nickname spawned one of the greatest collaborations of Mets and Muppets pictures to ever grace the internet! You'll laugh, you'll cry, you'll mostly laugh. Not sure why I threw cry in there.

Anyway, without further ado, we introduce you to Muppet Avenue!

First off, check out the rather stunning resemblance between Jim Henderson and Jim Henson! (IPA)
