Bartolo Colon and the Mets' bullpen only gave up one run, but the Mets didn't score any in a loss to the Phillies at Citi Field this evening. Phillies starter Vincent Velasquez struck out nine, walked three, and allowed three hits, and the Mets didn't have a hit in three innings against the Phillies' bullpen.
Philadelphia's lone run of the game came on a Ryan Howard solo home run to left field in the top of the fifth. Any loss to a team as bad as the 2016 Phillies is frustrating, but the Mets have the opportunity to take the series tomorrow afternoon.
