The Rockies completed their three-game sweep of the Mets with a 4-3 victory this afternoon in Colorado. The game very well may have turned on a terrible, inning-ending call by the second base umpire who ruled Juan Lagares out for running out of the baseline in the top of the eighth inning.
At the time, the Rockies were up 4-3. The Mets had led 3-1, but Jacob deGrom allowed a solo home run to Carlos Gonzalez in the sixth. He allowed a baserunner in the seventh, and Jim Henderson gave up a two-run home run to pinch hitter Ryan Raburn in relief of him in that inning.
A road trip that included a home run by Bartolo Colon turned out to be a pretty frustrating one.
