Monday Morning Mets Mind Boggler: Players out of position

New, 27 comments

Can you name every Mets position player to pitch and every pitcher to play the field?

Rick Scuteri-USA TODAY Sports

On Friday night, former Met Ruben Tejada pitched an inning in relief for the Cardinals in their 11-7 loss to the Diamondbacks. For this week's Mind Boggler, we're asking you to name every player in Mets history to play out of position—that includes position players who pitched and pitchers who played the field.

Tejada made it through a full inning of work in his relief outing last week. He even hit 88 miles per hour on three separate pitches (rounding up), and you can watch one of the outs he recorded in the clip below. Tejada's outing wasn't all good, however, as the natural infielder gave up long back-to-back homers to Chris Herrmann and Brandon Drury.

You'll have three minutes for this quiz. Good luck, and remember to post your time and score in the comments!
