Final Score: Dodgers 4, Mets 2—Jeurys Familia falls flat again

Bartolo Colon and the Mets did their job to stay in it against Clayton Kershaw, but the game got away from Jeurys Familia in the ninth for the second time in three nights.

Jeurys Familia walked himself into trouble in the ninth and then gave up the go-ahead two-run hit to Adrian Gonzalez as the Mets lost on Sunday Night Baseball, 4-2.  Bartolo Colon pitched effectively for six innings, allowing just two runs and keeping the Mets in the game against Clayton Kershaw, and New York managed to tie the game at 2-2 against the Dodgers' bullpen in the bottom of the eighth before Familia's meltdown.

Down 2-0 in the sixth, Asdrubal Cabrera hit a solo home run to cut the lead in half. Then in the eighth, Curtis Granderson ripped a two-out triple to tie it.

The glory didn't last long though; Familia gave up a leadoff single to Kike Hernandez (who had three hits in his previous 50 at-bats), followed by a couple of walks, leading to the key Gonzalez hit.

With the loss, the Mets drop a game behind the Nationals.
