Noah Syndergaard's elbow is okay. The Mets' ace went for an MRI after leaving his start after six innings today because of a flare-up with his elbow. But as Syndergaard indicated on Instagram, everything is okay. Specifically, the MRI on Syndergaard's elbow showed no structural damage, and he received anti-inflammatory medication and was given clearance to play, He had felt discomfort at the back of his right elbow.
Syndergaard has undoubtedly been the Mets' best pitcher this season, not that most of the rest of the rotation has been anything short of good. But Syndergaard has a 2.08 ERA and 1.85 FIP with 110 strikeouts and 12 walks in 91.0 innings of work. So it's very good to hear that things are okay with his elbow, as that sort of injury is the one that sets off alarm bells for pitchers.
If Syndergaard remains on turn in the rotation, which hasn't been made official yet, he'd make his next start on Monday against the Washington Nationals.
