On Saturday, the Mets brought back the franchise's all-time triples leader, Jose Reyes, on a minor league deal. For this week's Mind Boggler, we're asking you to name every player in Mets history to hit at least seven triples in a season.
Mets with at least seven triples in a season.
Speed has been a much smaller part of the Mets' offensive game plan since Reyes left New York. This year, the Mets rank 29th out of the 30 MLB teams with just 14 stolen bases, and 24th in triples with just nine.
Curtis Granderson leads the team in three-baggers, and his four triples put him on pace for nine by season's end. The other Mets to hit a triple this year are Yoenis Cespedes, Michael Conforto, Juan Lagares, James Lonely, and, most unexpectedly, Steven Matz. You can watch Matz's glorious triple in the clip below.
You'll have three minutes for this quiz. Good luck, and remember to post your time and score in the comments!
