Final Score: Marlins 1, Mets 0—Matt Harvey is back but Jose Fernandez is better

The Mets strike out 15 times in the shutout.

Steve Mitchell-USA TODAY Sports

For the second start in a row, Matt Harvey looked like Matt Harvey. Unfortunately for the Mets, even a vintage Harvey performance couldn't save them from losing to Jose Fernandez and the Marlins 1-0.

Six days after dominating the White Sox for seven innings, Harvey did the same to Miami, surrendering just four hits and one run while striking out three and walking none. He threw 104 pitches, 70 for strikes.

Jose Fernandez was, sadly, better. He also surrendered four hits in seven innings, and tied a career high with 14 strikeouts. David Phelps and A.J. Ramos were perfect in the eighth and ninth innings to complete the shutout. J.T. Realmuto's RBI single following a Derek Dietrich double in the fifth inning was the difference.
