CLEARWATER 9, ST. LUCIE 8 (Box)

Corey Taylor coughed up a late-inning lead as St. Lucie fell 9-8 to the Clearwater Threshers. Taylor entered with one out in the eighth and promptly allowed the tying run, then allowed the Threshers to walk off in the ninth. Thomas Nido, Wuilmer Becerra, David Thompson, and Jhoan Urena had two hits each, with Urena making another start at first base. Luis Guillorme went 1-for-4 with two strikeouts.

Low-A - Columbia Fireflies (36-34 / 5-13)__________________________________

SS-A - Brooklyn Cyclones (11-13)_______________________________________

BROOKLYN 6, ABERDEEN 5 / 11 (Box)

True to their 2016 form, the Cyclones played another extra-inning game, defeating Aberdeen in eleven innings. Gene Cone drove in the winning run with a bases loaded walk after Brandon Brosher tied the game with his second home run of the game in the ninth. Nabil Crismatt struck out eight but allowed three runs in five innings, and lefty Joel Huertas allowed two runs in four innings of relief.

Rookie - Kingsport Mets (7-11)__________________________

DANSVILLE 7, KINSPORT 2 (Box)

Jordan Humphreys allowed six runs (four earned) in five innings as Kingsport fell 7-2 to Danville. Colin Holderman, Adrian Almeida, and Jose Carlos Medina were solid in relief, but the Kingsport offense didn't score until the eight inning. Raphael Ramirez went 0-for-3 with a strikeout.

Rookie - GCL Mets (9-6)__________________________

GCL METS 3, GCL ASTROS 2 (Box)

Sixto Torres was solid in a five inning appearance and the GCL Mets were able to eke out just enough offense to beat the Astros 3-2. Anthony Dirocie had all three RBIs for the Mets, launching a bases-loaded triple in the fifth. Kenny Hernandez and Grabiel Jimenez had two hits apiece. Lefty Sixto Torres struck out five in five innings, walking one and allowing five hits.
