Corey Taylor coughed up a late-inning lead as St. Lucie fell 9-8 to the Clearwater Threshers. Taylor entered with one out in the eighth and promptly allowed the tying run, then allowed the Threshers to walk off in the ninth. Thomas Nido, Wuilmer Becerra, David Thompson, and Jhoan Urena had two hits each, with Urena making another start at first base. Luis Guillorme went 1-for-4 with two strikeouts.

Gene Cone drove in the winning run with a bases loaded walk after Brandon Brosher tied the game with his second home run of the game in the ninth. Nabil Crismatt struck out eight but allowed three runs in five innings, and lefty Joel Huertas allowed two runs in four innings of relief.
