St. Lucie begins a home series tonight against the Daytona Tortugas at 6:30 PM.

Low-A - Columbia Fireflies (36-34 / 5-14)__________________________________

DELMARVA 7, COLUMBIA 3 (Box)

The Fireflies struck out thirteen times last night and have struck out 760 times in 89 games as the second-half swoon continues with 7-3 defeat at the hands of the Delmarva Shorebirds. Bryce Beeler struggled through two innings and the Columbia bullpen did likewise through the final seven innings as Firefly pitchers combined for right walks. Dale Burdick's first home run of the season closed to deficit to 5-3 in the eighth, but reliever Alex Paisha surrendered the runs right back, allowing a two-run home run in the top of the ninth inning.

The series continues against Delmarva tonight at 7 PM at Spirit Communications Park.

SS-A - Brooklyn Cyclones (12-13)_______________________________________

BROOKLYN 6, ABERDEEN 1 (Box)

Nick Sergakis' three-run home run in the fifth innins broke a 1-1 tie, and gave the Cyclones a lead they would not relinquish during their 6-1 defeat of the IronBirds last night in Aberdeen. Erik Manoah pitched six strong innings and Raul Jacobsen pitched the final three, earning his second save of the season. Second-round pick Peter Alonso continues to impress in his professional debut with two hits, including a double.
