Mets vs Cardinals (Game 2): Lineups, broadcast info, and open thread, 7/26/16

Here, have another.

Noah K. Murray-USA TODAY Sports

Thanks gentlemen, Bartolo Colon will take it from here. In the second half of a two-for-one with the St. Louis Cardinals, the 43-year-old All-Star makes his 20th start of the season for the New York Mets. He will be opposed by lefty Jaime Garcia, who enters Tuesday's second game with a 7-6 record and 3.98 ERA.

For their part, the Mets will attempt to recover a half-game lead on St. Louis in the NL wildcard standings that was lost after Game 1. They will need a far better performance from their offense if that is to happen. Since an MLB rule allows teams to call up a 26th man for the second game of a double-header, 27-year-old relief pitcher Josh Smoker has the chance to make his Major League debut.
