For the third time in as many games, the Mets lost to the Rockies, this time 7-2. They took an early 2-0 lead, but Bartolo Colon went from no-hitting Colorado through three innings to giving up plenty of hits in the fourth.
By the time that inning ended, the Rockies had a 3-2 lead, thanks in large part to a go-ahead two-run home run by David Dahl. Colon gave up two more in the fifth before yielding to Seth Lugo. The rookie threw a scoreless innings in the sixth and eighth but gave up a couple of runs in the seventh.
As for those runs the Mets scored early in the game, both came in on hits with runners in scoring position. Wilmer Flores drove in Neil Walker in the first, and Kelly Johnson drove in Asdrubal Cabrera in the second.
Full recap to follow.
