The Mets beat the Rockies on the final game of their four game set this afternoon, 6-4. The win came with a bit of an asterisk today, with Asdrubal Cabrera suffering a knee injury and leaving the game while scoring the first run of the game for the Mets. The severity of the injury is not yet known.
Noah Syndergaard started for the Mets and, while not his sharpest, went six innings, giving up three runs, leaving the game with the score tied 3-3. Jerry Blevins relieved him and gave up one run to give Colorado the lead and put the Mets in line to be swept.
However, in the bottom of the seventh, Neil Walker—who already drove in the first run of the game—blasted a three-run home run, putting the Mets on top for good, with Addison Reed and Jeruys Familia pitching perfect frames to lock down the win.
Full recap to follow.
