Final score: Mets 10, Cardinals 6—All De Aza, all the time

The Mets had no problem beating the Cardinals to take the three-game series.

The Mets beat the Cardinals by a 10-6 score to take the three-game series. Alejandro De Aza had a big night, as he robbed a potential home run in center field and went 2-for-4 with a two-run single, a three-run home run, and a walk.

On top of that, Seth Lugo pitched very well in his second major league start. He threw five scoreless innings and was slated to start the sixth inning but left the game with a right calf cramp. By that point, the Mets were up 7-0, and they tacked on three runs later in the game, which made it a non-issue that three Mets relievers—Jim Henderson, Josh Smoker, and Sean Gilmartin—combined to give up six runs.
